How to Scuff Your Build Plate
This process can also be used to scuff LayerLock sheets.
For this process, we recommend using 220 grit sandpaper.
*Please Note* The goal of this process is not to “Sand down” your build plate and make it smooth. Your goal is to “Scuff up” the build plate to give your resin/filament something to grip.
Step #1, Start at one corner of your build plate and move the sandpaper in a straight line until you reach the opposite corner. Then move forward a quarter-inch and move back to the side you started on. Repeat until you’ve scuffed the whole build plate.
Step #2, Turn your build plate 90 degrees and follow the same process in Step #1.
Once done you should have scuffed the whole build plate in perpendicular/crossed lines. Like the image below.
Step #3, Be sure to clean the build plate thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel to remove debris the sandpaper may have left behind.
Congratulations, you're done! Your build plate should now provide a better mechanical bond to improve bed adhesion.
