Beam Air Power Input Selection Guide
**Before attempting any of the following, please be sure that the Beam Air Fume Extractor is unplugged from the wall outlet to avoid serious injury from electrical shock.**
The Beam Air Fume Extractor uses a 48V 5A JCPower (model #: JC-240-48) internal power supply with a manual power input selector switch. By default, the Beam Air power input selection is set to 110V and comes supplied with a US standard NEMA 5 to C13 power cable. For customers with a 230VAC power grid, please perform the necessary steps below before plugging your Beam Air into the wall outlet when using an alternate power cord.
The required materials for the replacement procedure are as follows:
- Philips screwdriver
- Flat screwdriver or pick tool
To start, unlatch the four latches that are securing the top lid, then remove the lid and set it to the side. Once removed, carefully lift the filter assembly out of machine and set it to the side as well.
Turn the Beam Air up-side down and remove the 16 Philips screws around the perimeter of the lower access panel. Once removed, set the lower access panel aside.
Tilt the Beam Air on its side so that you have access to both the electronics cavity (bottom side) and the filter cavity (top side). First, disconnect the Blower Fan Connector from the control board, located inside of the electronics cavity. While supporting the blower fan with one hand, locate and remove the 4 Philips screws from inside the filter cavity -- these are securing the blower fan to the machine casing. Carefully remove the blower fan and set it to the side.
With the blower fan removed, you may now access the power input selector switch. Using a small flat screwdriver or pick tool, slide the switch towards the desired voltage input -- 110VAC (left) and 220VAC (right).
After you have made your power input selection, follow these steps in reverse order to reassemble the unit before powering it on.
