I updated MatterControl and now I can't see Software Print Leveling in the OPTIONS menu
Different versions of MatterControl have different features, so upgrading from one version to another can change settings and move menus around.
In this case, changes were made to the way Software Print Leveling is shown and how that interacts with the other features that respond.
To show and use MatterControl Software Print Leveling:
- From the MatterControl main screen, navigate to 'Settings & Controls' -> SETTINGS -> Printer -> Features and uncheck the box for 'Has Hardware Leveling'.
- Navigate to SETTINGS -> Printer -> Custom G-Code.
- In the 'Start G-Code' section, delete the line containing only the command G29.
- Navigate to OPTIONS.
- You should now see the Calibration section with Software Print Leveling accessible. You can enable it, or configure it for use then enable it.
To hide Software Print Leveling and use the printer's firmware leveling (as with ROBO 3D R1 and R1+ printers):
- From the MatterControl main screen, navigate to 'Settings & Controls' -> OPTIONS -> Calibration and switch Software Print Leveling to off.
- Navigate to SETTINGS -> Printer -> Features and check the box for 'Has Hardware Leveling'.
- Navigate to SETTINGS -> Printer -> Custom G-Code.
- Add the command 'G29' (no quotes) after the last line in 'Start G-Code'.
- You are now ready to print using firmware leveling.
Sometimes after an update MatterControl will have Software Print Leveling enabled but it is hidden. To disable:
- From the MatterControl main screen, navigate to 'Settings & Controls' -> SETTINGS -> Printer -> Features and uncheck the box for 'Has Hardware Leveling'.
- Navigate to 'Settings & Controls' -> OPTIONS -> Calibration and switch Software Print Leveling to off.
- Navigate to SETTINGS -> Printer -> Features and check the box for 'Has Hardware Leveling'.
